Bethel Park is one of the largest South Hills communities, with about 33,600 residents. All three of Pittsburgh Regional Transit’s light rail lines run through it, and South Hills Village anchors its shopping district. Our office in Cecil Township, Washington County, serves Bethel Park families who want a lawyer they can sit down with.
How we help Bethel Park residents
- Wills and trusts. A will or trust that says who receives your home, savings and personal items.
- Power of attorney and health care directives. Financial and medical documents so someone you trust can act for you.
- Probate. Step-by-step help settling an estate after a death.
- Business and contracts. Contract review and business formation for local owners.
Allegheny County offices you may deal with
Allegheny County does not have a separate Register of Wills office. The Wills/Orphans’ Court Division of the Department of Court Records does that work. It is on the first floor of the City-County Building, 414 Grant Street, Pittsburgh. Deeds are recorded with the county’s Department of Real Estate.
Inherited gas rights from family out in the country
Many South Hills families have roots in Washington or Greene County. When a relative dies, you may inherit a share of farmland or oil and gas rights there, sometimes with royalty checks attached. Those interests often need their own paperwork before the gas company will pay the new owner. Daniel B. Kostrub handles this kind of work. Start with our pages on mineral rights and division orders.
Questions Bethel Park residents ask
What happens if someone dies without a will?
Pennsylvania’s intestacy law decides who inherits. Our article dying without a will in Pennsylvania explains who gets what.
Can you help with an estate if the person lived in another county?
Often, yes. The estate is filed in the county where the person lived. Call us and tell us where.
